Media sources state that Vikas Purohit, CEO of Tata Cliq, has left the ecommerce company. The news was made during a recent business board meeting.
According to reports, Purohit accepted an opportunity to oversee the India operations of a major multinational in a non-competitive industry. Purohit, however, was unable to provide a statement.
Purohit, who has extensive knowledge in the ecommerce and fashion retail industries, joined Tata Cliq in November 2016.
Purohit left Amazon India in June 2016 after working there for two years as a senior vice-president for the company's payment bank.
He graduated from Bangalore's Indian Institute of Management.
Tata Cliq was launched in 2016 and the revenue increased 137 percent to Rs 844.6 crore, net losses more than quadrupled to Rs 750.62 crore in 2021–22 (from Rs 361.72 crore in FY21).
