Raj Gopal Iyer has stepped down as Head of Growth Marketing at Croma, concluding over ten years with the company. With a career spanning more than 20 years, Iyer has gathered expertise in advertising, digital sales, marketing and brand strategy, holding key positions with major Indian brands and global media companies.
He began his career in ad sales at Primetime Media, managing key accounts for Doordarshan and Sun TV. Later, as Group Manager at Sony Entertainment Television, he drove annual ad revenue growth for Sony TV, SET Max, and AXN, delivering Rs 20 crore.
Iyer further honed his expertise at Star India as Associate Vice President of Digital Ad Sales, where he led digital ad initiatives for major brands like Intel and Unilever in the Southern region. His journey continued into animation and gaming content at JadooWorks, where he collaborated with Disney and Warner Bros to promote original productions such as Krishna. As Regional Sales Head at the Times of India Group, he successfully monetised out-of-home (OOH) assets including the Delhi Metro, achieving substantial annual revenue. As Business Head at Percept Picture Company, he led a team of 15 in TV content production, generating Rs 20 crore.
After holding national sales roles at Big FM and managing regional operations at Radio One, Raj Gopal Iyer launched his own venture, Blue Ocean Media & Consulting where he crafted tailored marketing and content strategies for startups like Farms2Kitchen and the Indian Hockey League. At Infiniti Retail, he led growth marketing for Croma, overseeing brand, PR, and digital strategies that enhanced both online engagement and in-store experiences. With extensive experience in brand marketing, digital strategy and P&L management, Iyer has consistently delivered brand growth and measurable results throughout his career.
