The position of Prasar Bharati's Chief Executive Officer has been filled by Gaurav Dwivedi.
The appointment will begin on the day he takes over the position and will last for a period of five years.
Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, in a statement, says, “In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1} of Section 4 of the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act, 1990 read with sub- section (4) of Section 4 and sub-section (2A) of Section 6 of that Act, the President, on the recommendation of the Selection Committee, is pleased to appoint Shri Gaurav Dwivedi, IAS(CH: 95) as the Executive Member (Chief Executive Officer} in Prasar Bharati with effect from the date he assumes charge of the office, for a term of five years.”
The Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act, 1990 and the rules made thereunder, as amended from time to time, shall govern the terms and conditions of his appointment, the statement states.
Dwivedi is a Chhattisgarh Cadre IAS Officer from the 1995 batch. He has held a variety of positions in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Kerala. He has also taught at the LBSNAA, Mussoorie's IAS Training Academy. Dwivedi is presently serving as the CEO of MyGov at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, where he is in charge of running the government of India's platform for citizen involvement. The Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Administration has been given to him.
