Sayani embarked on his broadcasting journey as an English broadcaster but attained immense popularity when he transitioned to hosting in Hindi, particularly with the show 'Geetmala.' His voice and presenting style made him a household name for generations of listeners.
He was known for his signature greeting, 'Bhaiyo or Behno' (Brothers and Sisters).
Sayani's commentary during 'Geetmala' episodes became a defining feature of the show, which first gained fame in 1952 and continued to captivate audiences until 1994. The show's success led to its brief revival in the early 2000s.
