Hisense has formed a manufacturing partnership with EPACK Durable to revolutionise the home appliances and air conditioners market.

Hisense has partnered with EPACK Durable to establish a dedicated, advanced manufacturing facility in India. The facility will produce Hisense air conditioners and home appliances using the brand's proprietary technology and designs.

Steven Li, Managing Director of Hisense India said, “We are very thrilled to join forces with EPACK, a company that shares our dedication to excellence and innovation. This partnership will not only enhance our manufacturing capabilities but also allow us to focus on what we do best: creating outstanding products that resonate with Indian consumers.”

By locally manufacturing its products in India, Hisense reinforces its commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative while advancing its vision of bringing technologically advanced, smart, and premium-quality home appliances to the Indian market. The move aims to position Hisense among the top 5 air conditioner and home appliance brands in India within the next five years, aligning with its global stature.

Pankaj Rana, CEO of Hisense India commented, “Hisense is committed to delivering premium quality and smart products with state-of-the-art design to our customers. This partnership with EPACK Durable combines Hisense’s technological expertise with EPACK’s manufacturing capabilities. Through this alliance, we aim to achieve a leadership position in the Indian consumer durables market and expand our presence in strategic global markets.”

Under this agreement, EPACK Durable will invest in advanced production lines to manufacture Hisense's air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators and other small domestic appliances. Key components along with small domestic appliances and select washing machine models will be produced using EDL's existing infrastructure, enhancing the company's asset utilisation.

Ajay DD Singhania, Managing Director & CEO of EPACK Durable said, “This collaboration with Hisense opens new opportunities for growth in both domestic and international markets. With our combined strengths, we are poised to redefine excellence in the home appliance industry.”

EPACK will apply its expertise and cutting-edge facilities to streamline Hisense production, optimise resource use and uphold the highest quality standards. Hisense will contribute its technological expertise and premium design capabilities to the partnership.

EPACK Durable will begin by investing in a new manufacturing facility in Sricity, Andhra Pradesh with a capacity of one million RAC units by FY 2027-28. Initial production is slated for June 2025. Both companies are committed to sustainability and plan to implement eco-friendly manufacturing practices aligned with their shared values.

Laxmi Pat Bothra, Director of EPACK Durable commented, “Our agreement with Hisense is a significant milestone. By leveraging advanced technologies and innovative designs, we aim to deliver exceptional value to our customers and set new benchmarks in quality and efficiency within the home appliance sector.

Products manufactured at EPACK Durable’s facilities will not only cater to the Indian market but also present opportunities for Hisense to export to key international markets. The initiative aims to bolster the global presence of both Hisense and EPACK in the home appliances and air conditioning sectors. The strategic partnership is expected to generate approximately $1 billion in additional revenue for EPACK Durable and its subsidiary over the next five years.
