According to industry sources, Sonali Malaviya, the chief strategy and transformation officer of GroupM's EssenceMediacom, has resigned.
Malaviya was in charge of strategy, data and technology, digital transformation, performance and commerce, creative futures, insights and analytics, and more while she worked for the WPP group firm. Her major accomplishment was creating a thorough data strategy framework for Coca-Cola India to improve customer data management and engagement. She created an addressability framework to assist customers in efficiently segmenting and targeting audiences, and she formed data partnerships to cultivate stronger customer ties.
She created addressable audience(s) strategies for Mars, Uber, and Coca-Cola. She oversaw digital transformation for P&G, Vivo, Airtel, Mars, and Del. She used sophisticated statistics to assess Uber's media efficacy.
Before working at Roy Morgan Research, PHD, MindShare, Twitter, Colorbar, and Essence, Malaviya started her career at Mediacom.
She successfully switched to a fully remote work environment while serving as managing director of Essence, which she oversaw during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She achieved a 25 per cent increase in business growth, gained new business, and kept all of her current clientele.
Following the merger of Essence and Mediacom, GroupM established EssenceMediacom on January 31, 2023. The new organisation combines MediaCom's multichannel audience planning and strategic media skills with Essence's performance, data, analytics, and creative technology expertise. EssenceMediacom is part of GroupM, WPP’s media investment group.
