Meesho appoints Mohit Rajani as chief product officer

Meesho has named Mohit Rajani as the chief product officer (CPO). A seasoned product and technology expert, he joins Meesho with a distinguished track record of building high-impact products at globally acclaimed tech companies such as Meta, Google and Carta. In his role as CPO, Rajani will lead Meesho’s product organisation, overseeing the product management, design, and analytics teams.

Before joining Meesho, Rajani held significant leadership roles at several global technology leaders. At Meta, he led the messenger’s monetisation initiative, scaling it into a multi-billion-dollar business from the ground up. Before that, he was part of the core team at Instagram that launched ads and business products, expanding the platform to over one million advertisers. Most recently, at Carta, Mohit managed a diverse product portfolio and spearheaded initiatives including international expansion and new Generative AI-enabled products.

Rajani holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.

 

Entertainment Network India appoints Sumit Aggarwal as chief strategy and growth officer

Entertainment Network India Limited (ENIL), the company behind Radio Mirchi and Gaana, has appointed Sumit Aggarwal as the chief strategy and growth officer.

In his new role, Aggarwal will lead the strategic vision and growth initiatives across all ENIL platforms, including radio, digital, and the company’s extensive events portfolio.

He brings over 20 years of diverse experience across industries such as consumer products, industrial business, health, and media.

Before rejoining ENIL, Aggarwal served as head of strategy and data science at Viacom18 Media In his earlier tenure at ENIL, Aggarwal held multiple key roles, including cluster head for Gujarat, head of activations, and head of strategy and international business.

He holds a degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Sloan School of Management.

On his appointment, Aggarwal said, “I am excited to join ENIL at a time when the media industry is undergoing significant transformation. I look forward to working with the talented team at ENIL to build on its legacy of innovation and explore new avenues for growth that align with our audiences' evolving needs.

Harshit Sahni assumes a new role at Warner Bros. Discovery

Harshit Sahni has taken on a new role at Warner Bros. Discovery, where he will now oversee ad sales for all factual and lifestyle channels, Eurosport, International Business, and Discovery+ in South Asia. Sahni confirmed the news on LinkedIn, stating, "I’m excited to share that I’m stepping into a new role as Cluster Revenue Head - Factual & Lifestyle Channels, Eurosport, International Business - South Asia at Warner Bros. Discovery!". Shani has joined the Discovery Network in the year 2016.

With more than two decades of experience in the media and entertainment industry, Sahni has previously worked with Star News, Sony Pictures, Zee News and others.

 

Jaimit Doshi exits Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance

Jaimit Doshi has resigned from his position as the chief technology, digital, and marketing officer at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance after five years with the company. Doshi initially joined the company in March 2020 as the chief digital and marketing officer and was promoted to his current role in October 2022. Before his tenure at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance, Doshi served as EVP- marketing at Kotak Securities and has previously held leadership roles in marketing at various fintech companies.

His Linkdein post read, "You know when you had a good job when it's the toughest thing to say goodbye!

In leadership roles, it's easy to think that one's job is to transform the organisation, build growth engines, enhance shareholder value and other management catchphrases. Well, that is true and a core reason to get paid but it is not the whole truth.

The last five years at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance in many ways have been transformative for me more than anything else. Especially in my belief systems and core philosophies."
