Google’s Gemini AI which was initially launched in the United States has now expanded to 150 countries including India. This advanced AI model is capable of comprehending not only text but also images, videos and audio and is expected to revolutionise the AI industry in India.
Microsoft's AI efforts are currently well-established in India, holding a notable advantage over Google. So, it is reportedly found that in retaliation, Google has launched Gemini as a strong competitor to its rival's products.
Google's ambitious goal in the field of AI can be further strengthened by its parent company Alphabet. In the fourth quarter of 2023, Alphabet's AI infrastructure led to a noteworthy surge of 45 per cent in capital expenditure, amounting to USD 11 billion.
Commenting on the significant capabilities of the model, Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the Gemini 1.5 Pro AI Model features the company’s improvement in several dimensions, achieving comparable quality to 1.0 Ultra, requiring fewer computing resources.
He emphasised that the new-generation device will significantly deliver a breakthrough in long-context understanding.
Additionally, the CEO stressed the model could develop and process large amounts of data running up to one million tokens consistently, making it the first model to achieve the longest context window of any large-scale foundation.
Pichai said that the longer context windows showcase the new tech capabilities and help developers build much more useful models and applications.
