The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) scored big, amassing Rs 1,485 crore by auctioning off four coveted sponsorship slots for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, as reported in a recent news release.
The four slots were clinched by My11Circle, RuPay, Angel One, and Ceat. While RuPay made a bid for three years, the other sponsors secured their spots for a five-year term. Ceat, on the other hand, not only secured a spot but also retained the timeout partnership for a substantial five-year tenure, sealing the deal with a bid of Rs 240 crore.
There were no takers for partnerships related to the coveted orange & purple cap and umpire collaborations.
The upcoming IPL 2024 is scheduled to commence on March 22, 2024, and conclude on April 7, 2024. The tournament promises an action-packed two weeks, featuring 21 matches played across 10 cities. Each participating team is slated to play a minimum of three matches, with a maximum limit of five matches, as disclosed by the BCCI in a recent press statement.
