In a joint effort, Blinkit and its parent company, Zomato have created an advertisement that flips a well-known Bollywood line. The phrase from the 2002 movie Maa Tujhhe Salaam is included on two billboards, one for Zomato and the other for Blinkit, but with a twist.
A yellow billboard for the supermarket delivery service Blinkit has the phrase "Doodh mangoge, doodh denge (Ask for milk and we will bring it)". While the red sign outside Zomato reads, "Kheer mangoge, kheer denge (Ask for kheer and we'll deliver it)".
Zomato posted a photo of the two billboards placed next to one another along with the caption, "Insta collab featuring a billboard collab."
While Zomato is one of the most popular meal delivery apps in India, its grocery company, Blinkit, already operates in 27 cities and has expansion plans for more. Customers may order anything using the two apps, from kheer to milk (which, incidentally, was the most popular item this year on Blinkit's competitor Dunzo).
In June 2022, Zomato purchased Blinkit (formerly Grofers) in an all-stock deal for about USD 570 million. Since the last year, quick commerce has been our stated strategic focus. Customers have found significant value in speedy delivery of groceries and other necessities, and as a result, we have seen this business grow rapidly both in India and abroad, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal said when the acquisition was announced.
