As part of the recent organisational overhaul, Nokia has appointed Tarun Chhabra as its new India head. He is currently head of mobile networks and senior vice president at the telecom company. The appointment will be effective April 2024.
Chhabra takes over from Sanjay Malik who will retire in March and will report to Tommi Uitto, the president of Mobile Networks at Nokia. He will have a dual role overseeing the Indian market while managing the mobile networks group's business in India.
This move comes into play as a part of the larger global restructuring that aims to streamline operations and cut costs, according to its plan in October 2023.
Chhabra joined Nokia in 2017. It is his second stint with the company.
