Sony Pictures Networks India Strengthens Leadership With Key Appointments

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has made three key leadership appointments. Each new leader brings vital expertise and fresh insights to their role.

Nachiket Pantvaidya, an industry veteran with a rich and diverse career spanning multiple leading media companies has been appointed Business Head of Sony Entertainment Television (SET), marking his third tenure with SPNI. In addition to leading SET, he will continue his role as General Manager at Sony Pictures International Productions (SPIP). Nachiket has previously demonstrated strong strategic leadership at SPNI, successfully managing P&L for SET, developing iconic franchises and driving advertising and distribution revenues. His expanded role will allow him to utilize his extensive expertise to enhance entertainment experiences across both platforms.

Ajay Bhalwankar, who has been with SPNI since 2014, currently leads its Marathi channel and previously served as the Chief Creative Director for Sony Entertainment Television (SET). Under his leadership, Sony Marathi has achieved significant growth, delivering content that deeply resonates with Marathi audiences and securing a 9 per cent market share in the Marathi GEC space. Bhalwankar's strategic focus on progressive, relatable content has been key to this success. He will now also take on the role of Business Head for Sony SAB. With his vast experience and creative expertise, Bhalwankar is well-equipped to deliver fresh and engaging content to Sony SAB's diverse audience, further enhancing the channel's reputation for quality entertainment.

Tushar Shah is the Business Head of English, Bengali and Infotainment Channels and the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI). he manages key channels like Sony PIX, Sony AATH and Sony BBC Earth. With nearly 18 years of experience over two tenures at SPNI, Shah has significantly contributed to growth, profitability and increased viewership. His leadership has been vital in expanding Sony AATH's reach in West Bengal. In his expanded role, Shah will also oversee Sony MAX, Sony MAX HD, Sony MAX 2, Sony WAH and Sony PAL, where his expertise will drive further innovation and strengthen their market presence.
