As the brand ambassador for the clothing company, PUMA has partnered with Anushka Sharma.
Anushka Sharma, an actor, criticised Puma India on social media on Monday for using a photo of her wearing the company's clothing to advertise EOSS promotions. She asked Puma to use her image only after she is being signed as a brand ambassador. Puma's endorser, Virat Kohli, her partner shared the post asking the company to look into.
As it appeared, Puma had made a mistake until Sharma was on boarded the following day and revealed that the social media chatter was a trick. By doing so, the actor joined the PUMA family, which also includes well-known figures like Virat Kohli, MC Mary Kom, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Yuvraj Singh, Sunil Chhetri, and most recently, Harrdy Sandhu.
The brand PUMA took to social media asking her, “Hey @anushkasharma, we should’ve reached out sooner! Should we take things to the next level, then?"
Replying to Puma’s post, Anushka Sharma posted a reel mentioning the approval of the deal. She said, “ Considering @pumaindia’s proposal. What say?”
When everything is completed, Sharma will accompany Kohli, who joined Puma India in 2017 for a contract reportedly worth Rs 100 crore. While the official announcement of the agreement is still pending, this mock trial on the improper use of a celebrity's name for gainful employment is notable.
