Prasar Bharati Appoints Navneet Kumar Sehgal As Chairman

By the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act 1990 and upon the recommendation of the Selection Committee, the President has appointed Shri Navneet Kumar Sehgal, IAS (retd) as the Chairman of the Prasar Bharati Board.

Sehgal will assume charge of the post for a term of three years or until he reaches the age of seventy, whichever occurs earlier.

The appointment comes with the authority vested in the President under sub-section (1) of Section 4 of the Prasar Bharati Act, 1990, along with the relevant provisions specified under sub-section (4) of Section 4 and sub-section (1) of Section 6 of the Act.

"The terms and conditions of his appointment shall be governed by the provisions of the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act, 1990 and the rules made thereunder", as stated in their press release.
