Maha Kumbh 2025: Brands Invest Rs 2,000 Cr To Tap Into 45 Cr Devotees

Modern technology like virtual assistants, large LED outdoor panels, AI-driven themes, and smartphone apps are being used to draw in the millions of pilgrims

Prayagraj is hosting a staggering 45 crore devotees for the Maha Kumbh 2025, the one-of-its-kind, largest mass gathering.

This congregation of Sanatan Dharma adherents has spurred an unprecedented influx of capital, with thousands of crores going on infrastructure, marketing, and fieldwork.

Brands, especially those in the automotive, electronics, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industries, are expected to spend between Rs 1,800 crore and Rs 2,000 crore on advertising overall, according to industry estimates.

Modern technology like virtual assistants, large LED outdoor panels, AI-driven themes, and smartphone apps are being used to draw in the millions of pilgrims who gather on the holy banks of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers.

This 45-day spiritual celebration has an influence that goes well beyond marketing. The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) estimates that Maha Kumbh 2025 will boost Uttar Pradesh's economy by around Rs 1.2 lakh crore.

It is anticipated that trade activity associated with the event will surpass Rs 4 lakh crore, significantly increasing both nominal and real GDP estimates.

These predictions heavily rely on visitor expenditure. According to government statistics, Rs 2 lakh crore in trade earnings would be generated if the 40 crore guests spent an average of Rs 5,000.

However, according to industry analysts, the average tourist spending may increase to Rs 1,000, increasing the potential economic impact to an astounding Rs 4 lakh crore, the report continued.

Businesses are taking advantage of this rare fusion of religion and business as millions of pilgrims from all over the world come to experience the spiritual atmosphere of Maha Kumbh. Everybody wants to establish their presence and draw in a large, varied audience, whether they are local sellers or large enterprises.
