The 2019 Maha Kumbh brought in Rs 1.2 lakh crore for the state

According to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state's economy will benefit from up to Rs 2 lakh crore from this year's Maha Kumbh, which is anticipated to draw 40 crore people.

According to a PTI report, Adityanath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership for encouraging the country to rediscover its rich cultural legacy while speaking at the 'Divine Uttar Pradesh: The Must-Visit Sacred Journey' conclave in Varanasi.

The chief minister emphasised that the 2019 Maha Kumbh brought in Rs 1.2 lakh crore for the state and that the 2025 event is expected to greatly strengthen the local economy due to an expected increase in tourists.

Additionally, Adityanath disclosed that more than 13.5 crore devotees had travelled to Ayodhya this year, while more than 16 crore have already visited Kashi Vishwanath.

With between 50 lakh and one crore devotees at any given time, the Maha Kumbh, which will take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025, is anticipated to be the largest temporary metropolis in the world.

Adityanath emphasised that the Maha Kumbh is a symbol of spiritual unification as well as a religious assembly, bringing India's long-standing customs to a worldwide audience.

The CM also emphasised that the event would focus on environmental sustainability, ensuring that the Ganga and Yamuna rivers remain protected from sewage contamination. He concluded by affirming that under PM Modi's vision, India's spiritual roots are gaining global recognition, with the upcoming Maha Kumbh serving as a testament to this movement.
