TV Today Network To Wind Down Radio Operations In Six Months

The network cited losses and the state of the radio industry in the country as the reasons for shutting down its radio business

In its board meeting on January 9, the TV Today Network's board of directors approved the closure of its radio division. Under the frequency 104.8 FM, the network consists of three FM radio stations located in Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai.

TV Today Network told the exchanges in its regulatory filing that the radio business's FY 2023–24 turnover was Rs. 16.18 crores, or 1.70 per cent of T.V. Today Network's overall turnover for that year. According to reports, the net worth provided by the radio industry lost Rs. 19.53 crores in FY 2023–2024.

TV Today Network cited losses and the state of the radio industry in the country as the reasons for shutting down its radio business. "Given the state of the industry, its dynamics, and the evolution of FM Radio Broadcasting business, the Board of Directors considered it in the better interest of the company to close this business instead of continuing the same."
