Goodyear India's Former CMD Sandeep Mahajan Joins Assurance Intl As Executive Chairman

Assurance Intl, that offers automotive products with partnerships with American brands such as ‘Goodyear’ (The Goodyear Tire & Rubber), ‘Duracell’ (Duracell), ‘ACDelco’ (General Motors), and ‘STP’ (Energiser Holdings), has appointed Sandeep Mahajan as its new executive chairman. Known for his leadership, Mahajan’s appointment signals the beginning of a new era of innovation, growth, and excellence for the company.

Mahajan, formerly the chairman and managing director of Goodyear India, brings over 35 years of extensive experience in driving business profitability and optimising financial outcomes across global markets. His expertise spans sales, marketing, and launching new brands and product categories in regions such as North America, the UK, the GCC, and Southeast Asia. Starting his career at Tata Steel, Mahajan has held key leadership roles at Hindustan Unilever (HUL), LG Electronics, and Goodyear.

At HUL, he managed iconic brands like Pears, Dalda, and Basmati Rice for global markets while overseeing critical projects in the ice cream and beverages sectors. At LG Electronics, he played a pivotal role in creating the ‘rural vertical’ and expanding distribution through Brand Shops and Modern Trade channels. At Goodyear India, Mahajan transformed the Farm business, repositioning it in the premium category and establishing market leadership. He also contributed significantly to scaling the mining (OTR) and consumer businesses, earning Goodyear India multiple accolades from OEM giants like Mahindra, TAFE, John Deere, GM, Ford, and Escorts. Additionally, Mahajan has served in prominent roles at industry associations like ATMA and AMCHAM. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Bangalore.
