The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has reportedly selected advertising agencies McCann Worldgroup and Scarecrow M&C Saatchi to lead its creative advertising efforts for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, according to sources.
The creative mandate is expected to be handled jointly by McCann Worldgroup-TAG and Scarecrow M&C Saatchi. While the specifics of the partnership are yet to be disclosed, it is anticipated that the two agencies will collaborate closely to develop innovative and impactful campaigns for the BJP.
Although it remains unclear whether other agencies, including Ogilvy and Efficacy, which had also pitched for the creative account, will be involved in any capacity.
The process of finalising and allocating key mandates to advertising agencies gained momentum over the weekend following the Election Commission of India's announcement that the general election for the country is set to commence on April 19. This underscores the urgency for political parties to solidify their advertising strategies and engage voters effectively in the lead-up to the polls.
