Bim Bissell, a visionary figure who played a crucial role in shaping FabIndia passed away on Thursday at the age of 92. She is survived by her son William and daughter Monsoon.

As the wife of John Bissell, the founder of FabIndia, Bimla Nanda Bissell,  known as Bim to her friends was pivotal in promoting Indian handicrafts and handlooms.

Her passing marks a significant loss for both the FabIndia family and the broader Indian craft community. Bissell’s contributions to the company’s growth and success were invaluable. Founded in 1960 by her late husband, an American, FabIndia became a platform under Bim’s leadership for Indian artisans to showcase their crafts, offering them a reliable source of income and recognition.
