According to media sources citing Tofler, the ecommerce website Amazon India has claimed a gain of 30 per cent in income at its fine segments for FY22, including marketplace, transportation, internet, data, and payments while cutting its India losses by 17 per cent.
On a standalone basis, the company has recorded a 326 crore rupee yearly profit on 3,567 crore rupees in revenue. On revenues of Rs 2,553 crore, it has declared a profit of Rs 148 crore for FY21. The market was able to lower its losses over the year from Rs 4,748 crore in FY21 to Rs 3,649 crore.
In addition to product sales, it has also received income from royalties, subscription services, fees for opening its marketplace to merchants, and services like shipping, advertising, and others. As the e-commerce behemoth prepares for the holiday shopping season in one of its main countries, the business revealed on Monday that the cost for new merchants on its platform will be cut in half.
