Times Network's News Broadcasting Business Welcomes Varun Kohli As COO

Varun Kohli joined the Times Network as Chief Operating Officer for the News Broadcasting Business. Reporting to the Managing Director’s Office, Kohli will work closely with N Subramanian, Executive Director and Group CEO of the Times Group's Non-Publishing Business.

On Kohli's appointment, Vineet Jain, Managing Director, Times Group, said, “We are happy to announce the appointment of Varun to the leadership team at Times Network as Chief Operating Officer of the News Broadcasting Business. With his deep experience in the News Broadcasting Business, we expect Varun to bring in innovative approaches to Revenue Management and News Business Operations and propel Times Network to the next level of growth. With nearly three decades of leadership experience, Kohli brings extensive expertise in P&L and Operations Management within the broadcasting industry to the Times Network. Known as the 'Turnaround Man', Kohli has successfully ventured into numerous media brands and transformed many others into profitable ventures.

Speaking about his role, Varun Kohli stated, “It is humbling to be a part of a company with such a great legacy having leadership across brands spanning English News, Hindi News and Business News. Looking forward to creating more success stories across brands at Times Network under the able leadership of Vineet Jain.”

In addition to his media expertise, Kohli has also held leadership roles in sports management. He played a key role in establishing and organising several seasons of the Pro Wrestling League and Big Bout Boxing League for iTV Network.

Kohli's previous roles include Group CEO at iTV Network, where he managed 10 channels, two publications and digital ventures for over eight years. He has also held senior leadership positions at Network 18, HT Media, Amar Ujala Prakashan and other top media houses. His most recent position was as Director & CEO of Bharat Express.
