Tech Mahindra has appointed Peeyush Dubey as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). He shared the news LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter) on 14 November, comes as part of the ongoing senior management reorganisation at the Pune-based IT services giant.
Dubey, a seasoned executive in the IT services domain, brings a wealth of experience to Tech Mahindra, having previously held key positions at major players like Infosys, Mindtree and LTI Infotech. His most recent stint was at TheMathCompany, a Bengaluru-based AI analytics solutions firm.
The anticipation surrounding Dubey's arrival is evident in the warm welcome extended by Tech Mahindra's CEO designate, Mohit Joshi. Via a response to Dubey's announcement on X, Joshi expressed confidence in Dubey's creative mindset, extensive marketing experience, talent nurturing capabilities and passion for brand building.
The CEO designate emphasised that Dubey's contributions would play a pivotal role in augmenting Tech Mahindra's brand story.
Tech Mahindra's organisational restructuring, officially outlined by Joshi during the Q2FY24 earnings conference in October, is a clear departure from its previous geography-focused structure. The company is shifting gears towards a vertical-wise focus for delivery. Under this new framework, six strategic business units have been established: Americas Communication, Americas Technology Media, Americas Diversified, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), APJ (Asia Pacific and Japan) and India.
The imminent CEO transition adds another layer to these transformative changes. Joshi, set to take charge on 20 December, is steering the company towards a new era. The departure of former Managing Director and CEO, CP Gurnani, who will retire in December and recently resigned as a non-executive non-independent director, signifies the end of an era for Tech Mahindra.
As part of this restructuring, Harshvendra Soin, previously the global chief people officer and head of marketing, has been elevated to the position of president. In this role, he will oversee the consolidated Asia Pacific and Japan business, encompassing both the Telecom and Enterprise sectors and extending the company's reach to Australia.
