As the country struggles to cope up with the pain and suffering, many of us have lost near and dear ones amongst family and friend circles. Some of them we have bonded over the years and today with a very heavy heart, I remember a dynamic leader, an inspiration to many like me. He was the poster boy of the Consumer Electronics industry in the early 90'sand he created new rules of marketing and setting up benchmarks in the industry. I knew him from the early '90s when he came from Dubai and was looking for an opportunity to settle down in Delhi. I was at Woodland as VP. Later he found a great place and brand LG to launch and made his name in the industry. He set high benchmarks for professionals, carried an aura with humility, was flamboyant yet down-to-earth and ever-smiling. I have vivid memories of traveling together to Nepal with many other couples in 1998-99 and had great fun.
We remain connected though we were in different industries but used to meet on many social occasions or industry award functions.. When I invited him as my Guest of Honour at Jaipuria Inst of Management Noida at JAMC 2019 on Paradigm Shift in the retail industry, he immediately agreed. He was a true friend and well-wisher. I recall he wished me great success on my maiden book launch " My journey through Lala Land" and commented that he too intended to write his memoir soon.
