With the upgradation and evolution of technology, everything has changed, and so have the ways of marketing and advertising. And now, with the advent of the Metaverse, there is a lot more to happen. But will it affect the media, marketing and advertising ecosystems?
Discussing this, Rahul Singh, VP & Head of Marketing, SAP Indian Subcontinent said, "Some companies are already hiring chief metaverse officers at a higher pay, which reminds me of nothing but times when chief digital officers were introduced to the system."
According to a report, the global spending on virtual infrastructure would reach USD five trillion in 2023. However, 25 per cent of the populace would spend at least an hour on the metaverse.
Prasun Kumar, CMO, Just Dial, believed, "Would Metaverse survive? And will there be monetisation opportunities? These two things will decide the mass adoption of Metaverse. I don’t see anything happening as yet as the questions are monetisation driven. "
The Metaverse is nothing but a fancy 3D version of the internet, which will expand the whole ecosystem. Marketers will definitely enter this ecosystem once consumers have started using the space.
People will start to get assured if they will fall ill or not in the next five-six years. This is something which will be possible, "commented Vikramjeet Bhayana, Head of Marketing, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance.
