“ A veteran who was always a phone call away”

Pradeep Guha, a name that needs no introduction. A media veteran who has transformed various media conglomerates into what they are today. My first introduction with Mr Guha took place three years ago at a party. The warmth with which he spoke made me instantly realise how humble this gentleman is!

I was a beginner so to say in front of him but our age gap never came in the way we communicated all thanks to him. Since the time I met him, we used to be regularly in touch to discuss various industry issues.

When the unfortunate pandemic struck last year and businesses were suffering, he was the first one whom I rang and asked that how do we as a sector sail through it. The best part of him was his uncanny ability to have a freewheeling conversation. I always looked up to him as a veteran and he always made me feel so comfortable in all our conversations. Our age gap was never felt, again all thanks to him. His ability to take everyone along notwithstanding age or seniority made him what he was!

I had the pleasure of having a relaxed Saturday lunch with him once where we just spoke for hours and discussed everything that was under the sun. His vision, his dedication, his leadership qualities, his never say spirit- made him the finest person & leader that he was!

It pains me to make myself adjust to the fact that I can no longer call him but I wish to look at it the way that I am happy and fortunate that I knew him and he was truly a media veteran who was always just a phone call away for me !!
