Journalist, Former MP Chandan Mitra Passes Away At 66

Former Rajya Sabha MP and journalist Chandan Mitra departed for heavenly abode on Wednesday night. He was 66. Confirming the news, his son, Kushan Mitra tweeted, "Since it is already out there; Dad passed away late last night. He had been suffering for a while." Mitra is survived by his wife and two sons.

PM Narendra Modi and other noted politicians also took to the platform and offered their condolences.

Along with being a two-term MP, Mitra was the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director of The Pioneer. Mitra was also associated with TMC from July 2018.
