Cannes Lions 2023 Day 4: India Continues Lions Run With Grand Prix & Gold

India's creative talent shines as the country wins top honours, including the Grand Prix, along with gold, silver, and bronze lions on Day 4 at Cannes Lions 2023. In the strategy and experience track, the country celebrated triumph on the global stage by winning 1 Grand Prix, 1 Gold Lion, 2 Silver Lions, and 3 Bronze Lions. 

The Grand Prix, won by the Cadbury Celebration's campaign, 'Shah Rukh Khan My Ad’, created by Ogilvy for Mondelez in the category of Creative Effectiveness Lions, captured the attention of the jury with its creative concept and compelling execution. Ogilvy also received one silver lion in the same category for the same campaign.

Commenting on the honour, Sukesh Nayak, Harshad Rajadhyaksha, and Kainaz Karmakar, Chief Creative Officers, Ogilvy India jointly stated, “We are overjoyed and humbled to be awarded the Grand Prix for Creative Effectiveness for ‘SRK-My-Ad’. This is a result of the dedication and effort of our fabulous teams at Ogilvy and Mondelez. We also thank Rephrase and Wavemaker for their valuable role in making our idea a reality. This Lion is the biggest acknowledgment of how this campaign has helped over 200,000 small stores across India through a tough time. This is personalisation at scale and more importantly, generosity at scale."

Leo Burnett acquired the gold lion for the campaign, ‘Airtel 175 Replayed’ for Airtel in the category of Brand Experience & Activation Lions. The agency’s campaign ‘Lay’s Smart Farm’ for Lays won one silver lion in the category of Creative Business Transformation Lions and one bronze lion in the category of Innovation Lions. In addition, Leo Burnett won another bronze lion in the Creative Strategy Lions category for the campaign 'The Missing Chapter' for P&G.

"Winning for Airtel 175 is legendary," said Rajdeepak Das, Chief Creative Officer, Leo Burnett. He further added, “Legendary brand, legendary work. Getting the lost history back and winning a metal for this is a great feeling. The year has been good for us, we won for Oreo, P&G Whisper, and PepsiCo.”

In addition, Dentsu Creative’s campaign, 'Suraksha ka Teeka' for Mortein won one bronze lion in Brand Experience & Activation Lions category.
