Zee Shareholders Approve Appointment Of 3 Independent Directors

With the necessary majority through a postal ballot, the shareholders of Zee Entertainment Enterprises (Zee) have duly passed the resolutions designating Uttam Prakash Agarwal, Shishir Babubhai Desai and Venkata Ramana Murthy Pinisetti as independent directors for a first-term of three years.

"This outcome of the remote e-voting process concluded on 15th March 2024, reflects the shareholders' confidence in the Board of the Company," said the company. 

The voting results are disclosed by the company and will also be available on the website of the company and the website of the National Securities Depository.

Zee also reported the strategic changes in the technology and data vertical, implemented by its MD & CEO Punit Goenka, under the guidance of the company’s board on March 15. 

The MD & CEO has accepted the resignation of Nitin Mittal. Amrit Thomas, responsible for data science, Kishore Krishnamurthy, responsible for engineering, Bhushan Kolleri, responsible for product and Vishal Somani, responsible for enterprise and Content technology; on an interim basis, will report to Amit Goenka, president – digital businesses & platforms.
