Titan Company Initiates Search For New CEO As CK Venkataraman Nears Retirement

Titan Company has embarked on the quest for a new chief executive officer (CEO). The decision comes as the current CEO, CK Venkataraman, approaches the end of his tenure, marked by an extension granted by the company for an additional 14 months until December 2025.

Having assumed office on October 1, 2019, Venkataraman's impending departure is imminent as he approaches the group's retirement age of 65, slated for October next year. However, before stepping down, he will oversee the transition process, ensuring continuity and stability within the organisation.

With the spotlight now on internal talent, Titan's 13-member board has identified three key candidates to potentially assume the role of CEO. Ajoy Chawla, currently serving as the CEO of the jewellery business, Suparna Mitra, spearheading the watches and wearables division and Saumen Bhaumik, leading the eye-care business have emerged as frontrunners for the position.

In the months ahead, the shortlisted candidates will undergo meticulous evaluations by Titan's board, as the company meticulously deliberates over selecting the individual best suited to steer Titan into the future.
