As Mumbai geared up for Ganesh Utsav, Swiggy Instamart set up a 'modak' dispenser on Carter Road. The dispenser, offering modaks, a staple of the festival became a hit among Mumbaikars. Available on 6 and 7 September, it will distribute 1,000 Modaks each day, dispensing about 142 Modaks per hour.
The dispenser operates with a touch of traditional charm combined with modern technology. It features an audio sensor that activates upon hearing a bell ring. Within five seconds of activation, the dispenser releases a single modak, neatly packed in a box. Each box comes with a QR code that directs users to Swiggy Instamart’s special Ganesh Chaturthi section on their platform. Here, users can find a variety of pooja essentials, modak-making kits, assorted modak flavours, and eco-friendly Ganesha idols.
The creative campaign is the result of a collaboration between Swiggy, Havas Media and Havas Media Tribes.
With the Marathi phrase ‘Ghanti Vajwa, Mithai Milwa’ (ring the bell, get the sweet) prominently displayed, the initiative sparked social media buzz.
