Meta Platforms owned social networking service, Instagram, has announced a rebranding of its logo, typeface, and marketing layouts, As part of the 'Visual Refresh', users now see a slightly tweaked logo with a brighter and more vibrant gradient, a new typeface font 'Instagram Sans' which will support global scripts including Arabic, Thai, and Japanese, along with a new full-screen marketing layout.
Our intent with the refresh is to make the experience feel “illuminated and alive,” the company said in a statement. “While designing this new typeface, our goal was to make Instagram Sans globally accessible. We partnered with language experts around the world to adapt the typeface to global scripts including Arabic, Thai, and Japanese. We want to support all of our creators and community members who push culture forward to express themselves fully in any language they choose.”, the company added.
The full-screen marketing layouts, mark the company's efforts in trying to replicate the Tik-Tok user experience through the way photos are displayed in the home feed. The company says the layout intends to be “content-forward” while celebrating simplicity.
