India Today Group Launches Sana, First AI Anchor

During India Today Conclave 2023, Vice Chairperson of India Today Group Kalli Purie introduced Sana, the group's first collaborative AI anchor.

Kalli Purie describes, "Sana is intelligent, gorgeous, ageless, tireless, multilingual and completely under my control." 

Beginning the next week, Sana, the first AI anchor of Aaj Tak, would provide daily news updates in various different languages. She will explain one relevant subject every day in a new episode. Sana will also perform a presentation in which she will take questions from the crowd and respond.

Kalli Purie adds, "Sana does not take away from the brilliance of real-life anchors, who will be mentoring her. Sana will have a human surrogate editor and hopefully company soon."  

According to Kalli Purie, there is no rivalry between humans and AI, and their cooperation is producing creative magic. She declared the future is both exciting and terrifying.
