Acko has named Sandip Goenka as the Chief Executive Officer of its newly established life insurance division. As a founding member of Acko Life, Goenka has been instrumental in building the direct-to-consumer (D2C) life insurance business.
In his new role, Goenka will be anchoring the business while also playing a pivotal role in strategically directing Acko Life. He will be instrumental in developing the company’s initial product offerings and ensuring the necessary systems and processes are in place to support the business’s long-term growth. His responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum of leadership and management functions including overseeing business and customer strategy, driving operational efficiency, ensuring financial performance, fostering investor relations and upholding corporate governance standards.

Goenka is a seasoned insurance expert with two decades of experience spanning life, health, general insurance, reinsurance and insurance consulting. His expertise in strategic business management, growth initiatives, actuarial practices, mergers and acquisitions and insurance regulations will bring exceptional value to the company. Moreover, his cross-cultural experiences in India and other international markets, including the UK and Singapore will be beneficial for Acko's expansion efforts.

Prior to joining Acko, Goenka served as the Chief Financial Officer at Exide Life Insurance. He has also held leadership positions at Tata AIA and EY, among others.
Goenka's transition to Acko Life underscores the company's dedication to strengthening its foothold in the life insurance sector, leveraging his leadership and expertise.
He is a qualified actuary from both the Institute of Actuaries of India and the UK Actuarial Institute, specialising in health and life insurance. Additionally, he completed a 12-month executive management program at Columbia Business School in the US.
