Zee To Shut Down Its Hindi News Channel

According to a media report, Zee Media has decided to shut down the Hindi news channel Zee Hindustan.

Shamsher Singh oversaw the channel's operations, which has around 300 employees.

Additionally, the story cited sources who said that numerous staff had already been let go. In addition to being financially unviable, the channel's content allegedly overlaps with that of Zee News, which is one of the reasons given for its closure.

The channel had a makeover in December 2020 under the direction of the then CEO Purushottam Vaishnava. The managing editor at the time was Shamsher Singh.
