CEO of Twitter Elon Musk has declared the launch of account verification programme from next week, tentatively on Friday.
In addition to the blue ticks, the microblogging site will now have gold and grey ticks. Companies will be represented by gold, the government by grey, and regular people, including celebrities, will be represented by blue.
Musk had already made hints about distinct colours for people and organisations.
Following Twitter's need to suspend its USD 7.99 verification service for several weeks, this announcement was made. Numerous personalities and brands were impersonated by users.
Before the check is activated, all verified accounts will be manually authenticated, Musk has stated in a tweet.
