Nine Shine At BW PuRe Brand Awards 2020

The purpose was never as important as it was in the face of the crisis-ridden world that 2020 heralded. The pandemic period reiterated that performance follows purpose. In the second edition of the BW PuRe (Purpose + Resilient) Brand Awards 2020, given the unique business environment and consumer demands, BW Businessworld honoured companies that not only were walking and talking the ‘purpose’ language in their actions and communication but also outperformed in their respective sectors, showing resiliency in a tough year.

“BW PuRe Brand Awards is our way to recognize endeavours in corporate India where ‘purpose’ has become central to a company’s DNA. While the year 2020 saw many brands reiterate the role that purpose plays in their organizations, very few not only made a real difference but also did so while continuing to grow their businesses, by adapting to consumer demands and revisiting business models,” comments Annurag Batra, Chairman & Editor-in-Chief, BW Businessworld, adding, “The nine companies that standout upheld high benchmarks in this context in the year.”

Nestlé, GCPL, Cadbury - Hallmark Winners

Nestlé India was among the top hallmark winners at the award this year, being named the BW PuRe Company of the Year 2020. Nestlé India won the top honour for the work that was done across its brands including Maggi, Nescafé and Kit Kat, and several initiatives were undertaken at the corporate level, such as ‘Nesternships’ as well.

Combined with the plethora of work done by Mondelez India in the year, the company won not only a BW PuRe Brand Award but also additional recognition of BW PuRe Best of Show Award 2020.
