Indian Content Creators & Celebs Debuting At Cannes Film Festival 2023

The Cannes Film Festival is held annually in Cannes, France and is recognised as one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. This year, it is starting from May 16 and will run through May 27, 2023. Over the years, several Indian filmmakers, actors, and actresses have attended the festival and have been recognised for their contributions to Indian cinema.

Multiple Indian content creators and celebrities such as Anushka Sharma, Manushi Chhillar, Shannon K and Dolly Singh will be seen debuting with their presence at the 76th edition of Cannes Film Festival. 

Sharma is the brand ambassador of L’Oréal Paris and will be representing India at the Cannes red carpet. Her attendance at the festival was confirmed by French Ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain, who stated that he had met with the actor and her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli ahead of her trip. Sharma is also expected to present an award to honour women in cinema alongside Hollywood actress, Kate Winslet. Moreover, Manushi Chhillar, former Miss World and actress will also be seen making her Cannes red carpet this year, adjoining Sharma at the film festival.

Moreover, Shannon K, daughter of singer Kumar Sanu will also be seen debuting at the prestigious Cannes red carpet.  She started her career as a singer and then an actor in 2020 with the ‘The Big Feed' in Hollywood and an anti-bullying song, 'Give Me Your Hand' with David Arquette, Ed Westwick, Brittany Snow which obtained love from a global audience.
Nonetheless, this year, Indian content creator, entrepreneur and actress Dolly Singh will be making her grand debut at Cannes Film Festival in association with AJIO and Brut India. Singh has a mainstream film release dropping later this year. Singh will be seen walking the red carpet at French Riviera as well as attending the official movie screenings at the iconic Grand Lumiere Theatre. Her four-day itinerary will include her cultural explorations, sampling exquisite culinary experiences at Chez Albane, La Môme Plage, Silencio Club, Fred l’écailler and Majestic Le Paradisio.

Singh states, “The Cannes Film Festival has been an important platform for Indian artists to showcase their talent on the international stage. Over the years Indian talent has not only brought Indian cinema to the world stage but has also helped to break down cultural barriers and promote cross-cultural exchange. Today I am honoured to be contributing in my own unique way to this exchange and making my debut this year at the festival. From making candles in a small town of Nainital to walking the red carpet at Cannes with AJIO and Brut India, I’m truly grateful and excited for this opportunity. This was a long-standing dream and I’ve finally ticked an important milestone off my bucket list.”

Other celebrities from Bollywood including Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat, Pooja Hegde, Hina Khan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Aditi Rao Hydari have also attended the festival and walked the red carpet as part of the other fashion or luxury brand deals.
