India Bags 3 Bronze Lions In Entertainment Category On Day 2

Ogilvy, VML and Leo Burnett savour the Bronze win at the 71st edition of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity

India is taking home three Bronze Lions in the Entertainment category, one each for Ogilvy, VML and Leo Burnett.

The Entertainment Lions celebrate creativity that turns content into culture. The work demonstrates ideas that are unskippable. It captivates in order to cut through, communicating a brand message or connecting with consumers in a new way.

While Ogilvy's work for 5 Star won the Entertainment Lions, VML Mumbai's ‘Sing to Remember’ campaign for Coke Studio won the ‘Entertainment Lions for Music’, along with Leo Burnett's ‘Turf Finder’ campaign for Gatorade in the ‘Entertainment for Sport’ category.

Geoffrey Edwards, Managing Director, Creative at Gale was the Jury President for Entertainment Lions. Madeline Nelson, US Head of Independent Label Relations at Amazon Music led the Entertainment Lions for Music jury. Louise Johnson, CEO of Fuse chaired the Entertainment Lions for Sport jury. No Indian jurors were present in these categories.

The Entertainment Lions for Music celebrate creative musical collaborations and branded music content. The work demonstrates original production, promotion or distribution of music for brands. It creatively leverages a recording artist or platform to communicate with consumers.

The Entertainment Lions for Sport, on the other hand, celebrate creativity that taps into fan culture and leverages the power of sports and esports in connecting people to brands. The work demonstrates excellence in breakthrough creativity within the sports and esports ecosystem through the use of effective strategic planning, sponsorship, brand management, media, entertainment and/or talent.

Sadly, India failed to make the cut in the Entertainment Lions for Gaming.
