The 17th Goafest, including the Abby awards is scheduled for May 30th and 31st, 2024. However, it's expected to relocate from Goa to Mumbai due to the General Elections, with the event reduced from three days to two, as per reports.
Goafest 2024, co-hosted by The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and The Advertising Club is anticipated to be a two-day event in Mumbai. It promises to be an extravaganza highlighting creativity, knowledge and networking in the advertising, marketing and media sectors. An official announcement from the organisers is expected soon.
Drawing over 2000 industry professionals annually, Goafest organisers were anticipating increased participation, including from advertisers, this year. With several top advertisers and agencies located in the financial capital, Goafest 2024 may well see more significant participation from both. The festival offers a platform for learning, recognition, and celebration, read the fest's official press release in January.
Adland's enthusiasm for the festival had been dwindling steadily over recent years. Goafest has faced challenges related to controversies surrounding scam ads and judging procedures, as well as boycotts from major agencies like Ogilvy. Additionally, there was considerable debate about relocating the Abby awards back to Mumbai.
