Robert Gilby, who led Dentsu APAC as the chief executive officer, has stepped down.

Appointed in September 2022, Gilby succeeded Ashish Bhasin. His responsibilities included unifying Dentsu's Asia Pacific business under the ‘One Dentsu’ strategy, driving growth, and fostering regional integration.

With nearly three decades of experience in the media and entertainment industry, Gilby has worked in the Asia Pacific region for over 25 years. He has held key roles at The Walt Disney Company, Warner Media, and PwC, gaining extensive experience in markets such as China, India, Australia, and Southeast Asia.

Before joining Dentsu, Gilby was the president of APAC at Nielsen, where he focused on building relationships with key media owners, brands, and agencies to deliver audience insights across the media ecosystem. Before that, he was CEO & Founder of Blue Hat Ventures, an investment and advisory firm focused on identifying and commercialising high-growth businesses in the digital media sector in Asia Pacific.

He also served in non-executive advisory and board roles with Singapore’s Ministry of Communications & Information, the InfoComm Media Development Authority, and as Chair of the Singapore Media Festival.
