In India, the world's largest advertising conglomerate WPP had a 47.6% increase in income for the first half of the fiscal year 2022. The IPL's presence in Q2 reportedly contributed to the company's significant revenue growth in India, according to the company's financial presentation.
In India, WPP has had double-digit growth in each of the last five quarters. The company's revenue grew by 25.1% in the first quarter of 2022. In the final quarter of the fiscal year 2021, the growth was 16.8%. The revenue increased by 30% in the second quarter and by 28% in the third (Q3).
One of the six international markets where WPP is observing strong growth tendencies in India. The US, the UK, Canada, Brazil, and Spain are among the additional markets. Germany still experiences double-digit growth for the company.
Lockdowns had an impact on the quarterly revenue from China, while customer losses beginning in 2021 had an impact on the quarterly revenue in France.
WPP's first-quarter revenue increased 10.2% to £6.75 billion from £6.1 billion during the same period the prior fiscal. Pass-through costs minus revenue increased by 12.5% to £5.5 billion from £4.8 billion. From £387 million to £419 million, net profit increased by 8.2 percent.
Revenue from the Global Integrated Agencies segment grew 10.8% to £4.5 billion. Headline operating profit increased 3.9% to £507 million. Revenue from Public Relations (PR) segment grew 27% to £545 million. Headline operating profit was up 30.7% to £83 million. Revenue from specialist agencies increased 14.3% to £426 million while headline operating profit rose 27% to £49 million.
