Nishant Pitti Resigns As Easy Trip CEO; Rikant Pittie Takes Over

Nishant Pitti, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, has stepped down from his position, citing personal reasons

Easy Trip Planners, the parent company of online travel platform EaseMyTrip, announced a significant leadership change on 1 January 2025. Nishant Pitti, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, has stepped down from his position, citing personal reasons.

The resignation, tendered through a formal letter addressed to the company’s board, takes immediate effect. Pitti expressed gratitude for his tenure while requesting the board to relieve him of his responsibilities, in a statement.

Following Nishant Pitti’s departure, the board has approved the appointment of Rikant Pittie as the new CEO. Rikant, who previously served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), is the brother of Nishant and Prashant Pitti, the company’s co-founders and promoters. His elevation to the top role points to the continuation of the Pitti family’s leadership within the organisation.

The resignation comes on the heels of a significant financial transaction involving Nishant Pitti. On 31 December 2024, he sold a 1.41 per cent stake in the company, amounting to Rs 78 crore, through an open market deal. This move reduced his individual shareholding in Easy Trip Planners to 12.8 per cent from 14.21 per cent. Consequently, the combined promoter stake in the company also declined to 48.97 per cent from the previous 50.38 per cent.
