Sitaraman Shankar To Leave Deccan Herald & Printers Mysore After Six Years

Sitaraman Shankar, the editor of Deccan Herald and CEO of The Printers Mysore, has decided to step down, tendering his resignation on Tuesday, August 6. He has been with Deccan Herald since 2018 and took on the CEO role at The Printers Mysore in October 2019. He will be leaving the company in a few months.

During his six years at Deccan Herald, Shankar led several significant changes, including redesigning the publication, introducing the new tagline ‘The Power of Good’, and launching DH on Saturday and Sunday and a new DH app. The Printers Mysore also publishes Kannada newspapers Prajavani, Sudha, and Mayura.

Before joining Deccan Herald, Shankar’s career included roles at Reuters, Hindustan Times, Economic Times, and Network 18. He began his career at the Economic Times in India before moving to Reuters, where he worked in Mumbai, Frankfurt, London, and Dubai. He reported from Moscow, Vienna, and Singapore before returning to India in July 2012 to join the Hindustan Times. In 2016, he joined Network18, where he played a key role in revamping the group’s financial news website, Moneycontrol.

 

Satyam Trivedi Joins GMR Sports As CEO

Satyam Trivedi has joined GMR Sports as Chief Executive Officer. He previously worked for RSPG Sports as Deputy CEO & Executive Director.

Revealing the new position on his LinkedIn handle, Trivedi shares, “Excited to step onto the pitch as the new skipper of GMR Sports! Having shared the field with many of the teammates before, it’s fantastic to see familiar faces around!”

“Thrilled for the opportunity to work alongside the promoter family, whose grace and genuine warmth have always bowled me over. Their sportsmanship and vision are a winning combination! Ready to play a new innings with GMR Sports,” he adds.

Before GMR Sports, Trivedi worked for RSPG Sports as Deputy CEO & Executive Director between 2023 and 2024. Before joining RSPG Sports, he associated with Adani Sportsline as Head – Adani Sportsline from 2011 to 2023. He had the longest career stint at the company. Previous to this, he was a Partner at CANARY between 2004 and 2011.

With over 20 years of experience, Trivedi has expertise in sports operations, business strategy, P&L management, branding, communication, and HR. He has a proven track record of delivering results, streamlining processes, and fostering strong partnerships within the sports industry.
