Adidas Signs Multi-year Kit Agreement With Mercedes F1

Adidas has officially signed a multi-year partnership with Mercedes F1 as the team’s new kit supplier, according to reports on Tuesday.

The notification comes after months of speculation sparked by leaked images of branded apparel late last year, hinting at an imminent deal. The partnership marks the end of Puma’s tenure as Mercedes’ kit supplier.

The collaboration marks a change for Mercedes, which finished fourth overall last season. That campaign turned out to be seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton's final one with the team before his move to Ferrari. Now, Mercedes is embarking on a new chapter, featuring 18-year-old Italian rookie Kimi Antonelli alongside George Russell as its driver lineup.

Despite the revamped roster, Mercedes is committed to reclaiming its past dominance in Formula 1. Adidas will play a central role in this fresh start, supplying a range of apparel, footwear and accessories for the team. A specially-designed kit, set to launch next month will also be available to fans. The partnership will include limited-edition releases throughout the year, adding excitement as the team gears up for the season opener in Australia on 16 March.

The deal arrives at a critical moment for Adidas, which recently lost a bid to supply Germany's national football teams to Nike for the period from 2027 to 2034. For Mercedes, the departure of Hamilton, who turned 40 this week, signifies a generational shift as the team moves forward without its lead, now racing for Ferrari.

In addition to its Adidas partnership, Mercedes has collaborated with fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger, where Hamilton served as a global ambassador. With fresh talent and renewed energy, Mercedes aims to reestablish itself as a title contender in the seasons ahead.
