The absence of Cred ads in this season of IPL did not go unnoticed. In the previous edition, the ads starring Rahul Dravid and Ravi Shastri gained immense popularity and captured the interest of viewers. Consequently, people were anticipating something similar from the company in the current year.
This year, they launched an OOH campaign, in which it was written, “Our Only ad this Year” which was placed in Bangalore, Gurgaon and Delhi. Below it was mentioned, “Send money to anyone via Cred UPI and earn assured cashback”.
A case in point is Rinku Singh, who referenced his knockout performance in a recent Kolkata Knight Riders match against Gujarat Titans, expecting the feat would get him into CRED’s ad this year. Shubhman Gill also tweeted about how he expected to react to rumors as part of a CRED ad.
As part of the IPL festivities, the company is offering cashback and rewards to users who make CRED UPI P2P payments. Additionally, users who make P2P payments during the powerplay will have the chance to win five VIP IPL tickets.
