Amazon's Gaurav Gandhi Leads Prime Video MENA Holding Asia Pacific Role

Gaurav Gandhi, Vice President for Asia Pacific at Amazon's Prime Video is set to take on an additional role overseeing the MENA market for the streaming service, as per media sources. Despite this expansion of responsibilities, it is anticipated that Gandhi will maintain his base in Singapore for his Asia Pacific role.

“MENA has come as an additional role for him, so, it’s unlikely that he will shift the base,” said a source.

In his current capacity, Gandhi oversees Prime Video's comprehensive business strategy in the region, managing Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD), Transactional Video on Demand (TVOD) through the Prime Video Store and Prime Video channels. Responsible for the entire Asia Pacific (APAC) region, Gandhi handles key international markets for Prime Video such as Japan and India along with more recent expansions in Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.

He is credited with playing a pivotal role in enhancing the platform's original content, introducing industry-first initiatives like direct-to-service global premieres of Indian movies in multiple languages, as well as engaging in co-productions and the creation of original films.

With a rich professional history spanning 25 years in consumer tech, advertising, media, and entertainment, Gandhi is a seasoned industry leader. Before joining Amazon, he held leadership positions in renowned companies including Viacom18, NDTV Imagine, Star India, and Turner International.
